The 40th World Universities Debating Championship hosted by Assumption University in Thailand has approximately more than 240 participating universities from 50 countries around the world; for example, Boston University, Cornell University, Stanford University and The King's College from The United States of America (USA), University of Oxford, University of Edinburgh, University of York from The United Kingdom (UK), Macquarie University and University of Queensland from Australia, Osaka University and The University of Tokyo from Japan, Peking University, Shanghai University and Nanjing University of Science and Technology from China, etc. In Thailand, there are three participating universities; Assumption University, Chulalongkorn University, and Mahidol University International College.
